D&AD Exhibition: The Best Design and Advertising in the World
I recently revisited this exhibition because of the change in focus of my work and projects over the past through month. based on the second level of urbis this exhibition filled the cramped and wired shaped building with viberent colour. The thing about adverts is the unless there on the train or tube i don't really look at them with more then a glance. There met to give u instant visual information as such I got the feeling of being bombered with different messages while walking through the exhibition. when u have the vision of one wart or design set out you get to flow through the exhibition picking out emotional notes from each piece.with this exhibition what stand out for me was the use of symbolism and and the mix between sub-cultures, high culture and low culture to give unique selling point and to aid in branding
my favorite piece from the show where the video based advert . seeing them at that scale with was large then a normal Ev but smaller then cinema gave them a different prospective made them work much better then some of the video art id seen in that last two year. the stand out piece though was the video for knarles Barcley i never really seen the video full length but the used of symbol and smoothness of animation are amazing.
